So, we have a plan for Friday!
Brunch. 11.00 onwards. For people arriving Thursday or before, meet for brunch at Au Bulle de Carre, which is 3482 St Denis. It's a Breton creperie, and it's where we had brunch last year and the year before. They open at 11. They know we're coming. Directions from the hotel -- take metro one stop on orange line direction Monmorency to Sherbrooke metro. Come out on the west side, signed "St Denis". Come out of metro onto sidestreet, walk west half a block, cross St Denis, the restaurant is right there on the corner. Walking directions -- walk along Maisonneuve to St Denis, walk up St Denis until you get there.
Expeditions. Following brunch, there will be an expedition to the Redpath Natural History Museum, to Marche Jean Talon, and to the Botanical Gardens. If any more would like to lead expeditions, please let me know.
Afternoon Tea. 16.30. Juliette et Chocolat, on St Laurent and Prince Arthur. the same one as last year. (The one on St Denis is permanently full.) They don't know we're coming, but they're big. If I have time in the week I'll go and warn them. If you're on an expedition, it will wind up there. Directions from hotel -- take metro one stop on green line in direction Angrignon, to St Laurent. Take 55 bus from directly outside the metro and get off at Prince Arthur, which I think is three stops. Walking directions -- walk up St Denis to where Au Bulle de Carre is, walk through the park, walk along Prince Arthur.
Evening Hanging Out. From 19.30 onwards. Da Fino. Da Fino is a cafe directly opposite the hotel on Ste Catherine, the address is 852 Ste Catherine E. They have beer and wine and spirits, they have weird lemonade with mint, they have elaborate coffees and cold drinks. They have sandwiches and salads and desserts, including baklava and cheesecake. They have counter service and don't mind people moving about. There are tables and chairs inside and a terrasse on the street. They know we're coming. (Ste Catherines has been pedestrianised from St Hubert onwards, and is strung with pink balls as bunting, which look interestingly weird. There was live music in the street last night, but I couldn't hear it inside the hotel, I went in to check.)
